Day 1: Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van

Bac Sum Pass winding road

Your journey begins at Safari House, Ha Giang at 9:30 AM. Meet your guides, get a trip briefing, and hop on your bike!
As we ride through Bac Sum Pass, the winding roads offer spectacular mountain views, with mist-covered valleys stretching endlessly.
Feel the thrill as you navigate each curve, immersing yourself in Ha Giang’s untouched beauty.

Heaven Gate viewpoint

Arrive at Heaven Gate, the highest viewpoint of the region. Take a moment to breathe in the crisp mountain air and admire the stunning panoramic view of terraced rice fields and deep valleys.
This is one of the most famous photo spots on the Ha Giang Loop, so get your camera ready!

Twin Mountains of Quan Ba

Next stop: Quan Ba’s Twin Mountains – a natural wonder with two perfectly shaped, symmetrical hills.
Locals call them “Fairy Mountains”, believing they hold mystical legends of love and fertility. A unique sight unlike anywhere else in Vietnam!

Sunset at Dong Van Karst Plateau

As the day winds down, ride through the Dong Van Karst Plateau, a UNESCO Geopark with breathtaking limestone formations and deep canyons.
Stop for a sunset break, soaking in the last golden rays over the rugged landscape.

Lunch stop (local ethnic food spread)

Time to refuel! We stop in Yen Minh town for a traditional local lunch.
Enjoy a delicious spread of grilled meats, fresh veggies, and sticky rice prepared by local families.
This is also a chance to interact with ethnic minorities and learn about their daily life.

Day 2: Dong Van – Meo Vac – Mau Due – Ha Giang City

Ma Pi Leng Pass

Start the day with an early breakfast at 8:00 AM before heading toward Ma Pi Leng Pass, the most famous and dramatic section of the loop. This pass, known as the “King of Passes,” offers stunning panoramic views of deep valleys and towering limestone cliffs. Below, the emerald-green Nho Que River snakes through the mountains, creating a picture-perfect moment.

Boat ride on Nho Que River

Take a boat cruise or kayak on the breathtaking Nho Que River, surrounded by towering cliffs and lush greenery. The calm, turquoise waters reflect the beauty of the surrounding mountains, making this one of the most peaceful and awe-inspiring experiences of the Ha Giang Loop.

Local ethnic village

Travel through remote ethnic villages, home to the H’Mong, Tay, and Dao people, known for their vibrant traditional clothing and unique culture. Stop at a local market to see daily life in action, where villagers trade handmade crafts, fresh produce, and textiles.

Road leading back to Ha Giang City

As the day winds down, ride through the Dong Van Karst Plateau, a UNESCO Geopark with breathtaking limestone formations and deep canyons.
Stop for a sunset break, soaking in the last golden rays over the rugged landscape.

DAY 1: HA GIANG CITY – LUNG KHUY CAVE – QUAN BA – YEN MINH

Bac Sum Pass

Start your journey at 9:30 AM from Safari House after a safety briefing. Ride through scenic mountain roads, experiencing the first breathtaking views as we ascend Bac Sum Pass.

Heaven Gate viewpoint

Stop at Heaven Gate, the highest viewpoint in the area, and admire the famous Twin Mountains of Quan Ba, a natural wonder of Ha Giang.

Lung Tam Linen Village

Explore Lung Tam village, where H’Mong women craft handwoven textiles using a traditional 41-step process. Witness their artistry and pick up a unique souvenir.

Yen Minh town

End the day in Yen Minh, where you’ll stay in a local homestay. Enjoy a family dinner, meet fellow travelers, and if you’re feeling festive—join in on some karaoke fun!

DAY 2: YEN MINH – THAM MA PASS – KING PALACE – LUNG CU FLAGPOINT – DONG VAN

Tham Ma Pass

Ride through the famous Tham Ma Pass, a winding road where horses were once tested for their endurance before being sold.

H’Mong King Palace

Visit the H’Mong King Palace, an ancient French-Chinese influenced residence of Vuong Duc Chinh and Vuong Chi Sinh, once rulers of the region.

Lung Cu Flag Tower

Hike to Lung Cu Flag Tower, standing at the northernmost point of Vietnam. From the top, enjoy an epic view over China and Vietnam’s borderlands.

Dong Van Old Town

Arrive in Dong Van town, where you can explore the night market, taste local street food, and settle into your accommodation for the night.

DAY 2: YEN MINH – THAM MA PASS – KING PALACE – LUNG CU FLAGPOINT – DONG VAN

DAY 1: HA GIANG CITY – LUNG KHUY CAVE - QUAN BA – YEN MINH

Bac Sum Pass winding road

The adventure begins at 9:30 AM from Safari House. After a safety briefing, we ride through dramatic mountain roads, crossing the Bac Sum Pass on our way to Tam Son town.

Heaven Gate viewpoint

We stop at Heaven Gate, where you’ll witness breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains and the iconic Twin Mountains of Quan Ba, a symbol of the region.

Lung Tam Linen Village

In Lung Tam village, meet H’Mong women crafting intricate handwoven textiles. Learn about their traditional 41-step linen-making process and see their vibrant culture firsthand.

Yen Minh town

End the day in Yen Minh, where you’ll check into a local homestay. Enjoy a traditional family dinner, share stories, and if you’re up for it—karaoke fun!

DAY 2: YEN MINH – THAM MA PASS – KING PALACE – LUNG CU FLAGPOINT – DONG VAN

Tham Ma Pass

Start the day with a thrilling ride through the Tham Ma Pass, known for its famous zigzag turns, once used for horse endurance testing.

H’Mong King Palace

Visit Vuong’s Palace, the grand residence of the H’Mong King. Admire the fusion of French and Chinese architecture, telling the stories of Ha Giang’s past.

Lung Cu Flag Tower

A short trek leads to Lung Cu Flag Tower, standing tall at the Chinese border, marking the northernmost point of Vietnam. The 360-degree view is unforgettable!

Dong Van Old Town

Arrive in Dong Van, where you can explore the town, try local street food, and experience the lively night market. Overnight stay at a cozy guesthouse.

DAY 3: DONG VAN – NHO QUE RIVER – MEO VAC – MAU DUE – DU GIA

Dong Van Sunday Market

If it’s a Sunday, start your morning exploring the famous Dong Van Market, where ethnic minorities gather to trade goods in vibrant traditional attire.

Nho Que River

Take a peaceful boat ride on the Nho Que River, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. Enjoy the emerald-green water and, if you’re feeling adventurous, try kayaking!

Ma Pi Leng Skywalk

The famous Ma Pi Leng Pass offers one of Vietnam’s most spectacular landscapes. Walk along the Skywalk, a narrow cliffside path with panoramic views of the rugged peaks.

Du Gia Homestay

After passing through Mau Due and Meo Vac, we reach the remote Du Gia village. Relax at a traditional homestay, enjoy a family dinner, and maybe a final round of karaoke!

DAY 4: DU GIA – WATERFALL – DUONG THUONG – LUNG TAM – HA GIANG CITY

Tham Luong Waterfall

Start your morning with a refreshing swim at Tham Luong Waterfall, a hidden jungle gem surrounded by lush greenery.

Scenic mountain road

As we ride through Duong Thuong, you’ll experience some of the most breathtaking landscapes of the trip, with winding roads cutting through untouched mountain valleys.

Lung Tam Linen Village

Stop by Lung Tam village once more, where you can pick up authentic H’Mong handmade textiles and witness their time-honored craftsmanship.

Ha Giang City

After an incredible journey, return to Ha Giang City by 5:00 PM. Relax at Safari House, grab a bite, and prepare for your bus ride back to Hanoi.
